The Devil is Still a Liar!

Faith1st Ministries

Lies--Caution Sign

…He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.—John 8:44 (New Living Translation)

There are many Christians that are experiencing a tremendous amount of pressure in their lives. Some are experiencing grief or sickness, for others it may be financial concerns or even marital and family issues. There are others that are experiencing any combination of these—if not all of them and more! But I am here to tell them and you that the Devil is a LIAR!!!!!

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against…

Seeing the Lord in Your Storm

Faith1st Ministries

And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.Matthew 14:26 (KJV)

It seems that this is a season in which many of us are experiencing storms of many types and magnitudes. But can we see God or His operation in the midst of these storms? What do we see…failure or success; victory of defeat? This is important because our victory will depend upon the answer.

What are you going through; family/marital issues, financial distress, health problems, spiritual questions or doubt? Regardless of what it may be and the degree of difficulty you may be facing at this moment…you/we absolutely must be able to see God in the storm!

Storms have a way of calling our attention to it. Be it a thunderstorm or a financial storm, we tend to look at the…

Have Faith, Not Fear

Faith1st Ministries

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV)

In my last post, Seeing the Lord in Your Storm, I mentioned how the Lord told the disciples to “fear not.” This is important because fear is an enemy to faith.

As Christians, we should not want to possess anything that God did not give us…naturally or spiritually. Understanding this bears great importance upon our experiencing the victory that comes with our salvation. Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross broke the curse of sin and death over our lives but we must access this through faith.

Satan uses the element of fear to keep us from receiving and walking in this life of victory. Fear is always at odds with faith. Where faith brings victory over all the ills of life, fear…

A Word about Grieving

Faith1st Ministries

Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows…Isaiah 53:4 (KJV)

Let me start this off by again saying thank you for your prayers and encouragement during this difficult time for my family after the loss of my wife’s father…we truly appreciate it!

During this time there has been a lot to think about and reflect upon.

As Christians, when we face the obvious difficulty of losing a loved one there are often a lot of questions with few answers. Also, there is the uncertainty of how to process it all. How close we were to the deceased will often be the determining factor of the weight of grief we experience. But it does not have to stop there…we have help.

Although, we are often told that ‘grief is a process’…the scripture above tells us that we have help and we are not alone during these…

Prayer Needed!

Faith1st Ministries

It is with a heavy heart that I ask each of you that will to please pray for my family. My wife suddenly lost her father today. He was a kind and compassionate man who loved his family and loved God! This is a big loss for us!

Please pray for our strength because this is the fourth loss of a loved one between us since mid-summer. This will be the third of the four funerals in which I will be officiating and preaching.

I really appreciate the community of Believer’s that we have here and I do not take any of you for granted! Please check in on Jill’s blog at Owning Your Life to let her know someone is praying for her.

Blessings to each of you!

Psalm 5

Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my meditation.

Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray.

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.

The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.

Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the Lord will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.

But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.

Lead me, O Lord, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.

For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.

10 Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee.

11 But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.

12 For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.
